Visit of the secretary of social welfare of the Diocese of Dirut
His Holiness Pope Tawadros II Secretariat for Social Welfare held a meeting with the social welfare priests in the Diocese of Dirut and Sanbo last April 18th at the Archbishop’s Headquarters, with the presence of His Eminence Anba Barasom of the Diocese.
The meeting came as part of the follow-up and develop the social care and development services in the diocese, and 51 priests attended the meeting.
The meeting began with an introduction to the Social Care Secretarial Services, then Father Rev. Luke Maher, in charge of the “Teach Your Son” program, gave a speech on “the importance of integrating the concept of care with development”, emphasizing the need to shift from aid provision to holistic human building and development. Service updates and the logo of secretariat programs were also shown, reflecting the direction of the Church towards serving man and all human beings spiritually, socially and developmentally.
The events of the meeting included an open dialogue session conducted by Fr. Khams Bishoy Charles, Secretary of His Holiness Pope for Social Welfare, during which the most significant challenges faced by priest fathers in the field of care and development services were discussed, experiences were exchanged and a number of practical insights were offered for service development and development within the diocese.
His Eminence Anba also delivered a spiritual word in which he emphasized “the importance of integrating efforts between pastoral work and growth in the service of man”.
In the framework of supporting digital transformation, Engineer Magdi Al-Sharqawi, database program designer and social welfare program coordinator, presented a detailed presentation of the new updates to the unified database system, addressing the importance of using it in case confinement, service organization and achieving higher efficiency in managing social welfare resources.
This resulted in the meeting presenting a number of initiatives and proposals, among which: expanding the study and implementation of small projects in collaboration with development offices, activating the marketing system for family products, and leveraging on the experiences of priests fathers in supporting the educational process within churches, and emphasizing the importance of achieving integration among all service parties including Achieving a mutual benefit.
A number of challenges facing the developmental business, namely the need for training and rehabilitation of servers and servers, illustrating the development vision in some categories, as well as seeking resource provision and marketing channels creation were also reviewed.

In this context, the Social Welfare Secretariat held a meeting with the teachers of the “Teach Your Son” program in the diocese, with the participation of 53 teachers from different disciplines, in the framework of supporting and developing the “Teach your Son” service and keeping up with the current development of the educational process.
The meeting aims to identify the needs and suggestions of teachers, and work on developing service mechanisms that contribute to improving the efficiency of the teaching process and achieving the best benefit of the children served.
Fr. Al-Mash Bishoy Charles emphasized the importance of a teacher’s role in building a person, not only academically, but also spiritually and pedagogically. Father Rev. Luke Maher also delivered a word titled “The Good Teacher”, during which he addressed the concept of the true message of the teacher as an influential servant in the lives of children.
The meeting includes an open discussion session, for a number of important topics, among which: emphasizing the role of the teacher in building the student’s character scientifically and spiritually, the importance of integration of educational and educational services within the church, along with the need for a patrol following of the academic and behavioral levels of students, working on analyzing the causes of lack of tuition and developing practical solutions to address them.

The importance of holding teacher patrol meetings were also emphasized to share experiences and discuss common challenges, along with educating families on effective methods of follow-up for children, which contributes to improved school collection.
At the end of the meeting, a set of recommendations were agreed to support and develop the “Teach Your Child” service, including promoting teacher-parent communication, developing teaching methods to suit student needs, supporting church-family integration in the learning process, while continuing to hold round teacher meetings to ensure sustainability Development.
The Social Welfare Secretariat also organized an entertaining day as part of the “Daughter of the King” program, at the St. Anba Bishwi Conference House in Sanbu, a group of preparatory and secondary students participated in it, accompanied by their mothers, in order to strengthen family bonding and build the character of the girl in the light of Christian values.
Where 27 girls and their mothers participated in the meeting, Borphorous Team and Fun Team contributed to the preparation and execution of various activities, adding a spirit of vitality and interaction among the participants.
Today’s activities included the distribution of welcome gifts and the introduction of entries with the slogan of the “Daughter of the King” program, and what it means is centered on the fact that the girl is saturated by our Lord, honored by His love, and distinguished in her behavior towards the daughters of the world. Following this, a spiritual word was given by Father Reverend Botros Nabil, the manager of the program “The King’s Daughter”, about “the importance of the girl’s understanding of her Christian value and identity, and the reflection of this on her dealings in the society”.
The activities included dividing posts into groups, including teams for girls and others for mothers, to promote interaction and build bridges of communication, a range of entertaining and interactive activities were carried out that contributed to the conveying of Christian educational messages in a practical and simple way, focusing on combining the recreational and educational dimension simultaneously.
The activities also focused on strengthening the relationship between girls and their mothers, highlighting the role of the family in supporting positive values, as well as emphasizing the role of an active Christian girl in society, and her ability to influence positively in her surroundings.
The day concluded with the distribution of gifts on the posts, emphasizing the importance of continuing to organize such meetings that contribute to building the girl’s character and developing her spiritual and social awareness.
The Social Welfare Secretariat also organized a recreational day as part of the “Teach Your Son” program for Grade Six and Grade One students, at the St. Anba Bishoi Conference House in Sanbu, in order to promote the spirit of participation and teamwork among the participants, using interactive activities as an effective learning tool, along with instilling the “Teach your Son” program slogan in their minds, including Contributes to supporting the educational and educational aspect and developing their positive values.
123 students participated in the meeting, and today’s activities included introducing them to the program slogan, then the implementation of a variety of games and recreational activities conducted by the “Porphorious” team, where the participants were divided into groups of boys and girls to carry out the activities in a way that reinforces the spirit of cooperation and positive competition.
The activities presented focused on developing teamwork skills, strengthening belonging to church and service, along with instilling positive values through practical interaction, which helped to achieve a balance between the recreational, educational and educational aspects.
This and the participants showed evident positive interaction during the activities, where play and interaction learning style contributed to attracting their attention and increasing their integration, which emphasizes the effectiveness of this type of activities in delivering educational and educational messages in a simple and impactful way.
