Blessing Bag Program
The Blessing Bag Program focuses on providing better nutrition for care families through the monthly distribution of bags containing essential food items. They are distributed in villages and desert areas. These bags contain basic items such as rice, lentils, oil, and other essential supplies. They contribute to opening up a source of income for feed store owners, grocers, and chicken and meat shop owners in villages by purchasing bag contents from them.
Service Completion Mechanism
- The diocese sends an official letter with the names of the churches wishing to
benefit from this service, especially for widows, orphans, and people with
disabilities. - The sponsoring church provides a list of the number and names of families and
their contact details in the database, adding 20% more families. - For example: If the church takes 50 Blessing Bags from the cathedral, plus 20%
from the sponsoring church, that’s 10 bags… The list will include 60 families. - Or: If the church takes 30 Blessing Bags from the cathedral, plus 20% from the
sponsoring church, that’s 6 bags… The list will include 36 families. - Every month, a statement with the required details (husband’s name, national ID,
wife’s name, national ID, phone number, items distributed, signature or stamp of
the recipient) is sent. - Cash for the next month is only disbursed after receiving a detailed statement
with the required information within the specified deadlines.
